Day 031

Dear dreamer,

Imitation

It seems to me that to go about anything, you need or will need strong determination. It goes beyond what you are asked to do. Of course, it can be something that was suggested that you become invested in. That also counts.

There's something I have noticed over time that people can get into either deliberately or not, imitation. Yes, to copy. It's not bad to imitate, in fact I often ask myself what I would do if I were someone else but to lose my originality in my bid to do something that someone else does, I would never do that to myself. There is always a problem when you are trying to imitate an entire existence. You want to act like you face the same issues like someone when we all know that's not possible. Why would you do that to yourself? The worst part is that you can't even get into the role properly so you imitate when you feel you are being watched. You need to breathe in and out. 

The first step to greatness is understanding and accepting that you are enough. Your ideas, opinions and experiences are all right. They might certainly not be your best but you are starting with yourself and you are betting on yourself. You certainly do not need to become someone else, behave like someone else. Imagine trying to be an extrovert when you don't necessarily enjoy social interactions, it's hard. I know that more than anything. 

When you imitate, you lose your originality, your uniqueness. I like to believe we are all unique in our own ways and the sum of us is what makes us strong. Why do you think a team usually consist of different characters, it is because the sum of differences makes a whole lot of difference in the world. They are dogged and will stand the test of time. If there is anything that puts me off when it comes to people, it's imitation. I am an extremely careful watcher. Talk about the slightest action or expression. If I smell a whiff of imitation, you are dismissed. You are not ready to take on the world. How would you when you can not even stay loyal to yourself. 

There will be days when you will really need to ask yourself why exactly you are doing it. If it was about imitation, do you think you will stand or persevere? You are supposed to be loyal to your cause, everything you stand for, not one who runs away at the slightest challenge. I am trying to learn this tough loyalty because I have this one chance to live this dreams and I can't throw it away simply because it's hard. No pennies still...

Day 002

Dear dreamer,  Questions...lots of questions Lethargy...I could literally feel it like a gentle caress lulling me back to comfort-very deceptively destructive state. I started the long, arduous process of shaking it off simply because I have this one chance to live my dreams and I won't screw it up as far as it is up to me.  I started the day wondering if my ideas were good. There were a lot of questions;  Can I pull it off?  I might need help so I called out to my close confidant. I read about something called a kitchen cabinet- it is a couple of people that are literally your guide rails. They keep you accountable, you can ask them questions about anything. Well, they are supposed to be comforting enough yet honest to call you up on your faults without mincing words. I started building mine then so I reached out to the one who I can say is the chief of my cabinet. Day 004

  Dear dreamer,  Life Of A Penniless Dreamer I don't know about others but being idle makes me so uncomfortable. Like, I must always be doing something valuable, meaningful, something that is felt but, as it was, I was just waking up in the past few days to nothing but absolute emptiness. Of course, I did some mundane chore but it moved nothing so I was dissatisfied and wondering what exactly I could do- something effortless enough but impactful. Not like I did not have things to do, in fact I had deadlines to meet but I was in low spirits so I had no motivation nor intention and I have learnt to not force some things. Quality dwindles. Poor quality with so much effort. There is something I do from time to time, no fixed time frame but I just organise it as it feels. It's a self-reflection exercise.
